Six died in shootout
Ebute Meta area of Lagos metropolis Monday night as suspected cultists
engaged in bloody clash which led to the death of six persons. The armed
hoodlums were at logger head over which of the cult groups will collect tax from the various motor parks in Ebute Meta.
“The boys were caught unaware, hence, they could not defend themselves.
It’s was terrible, even the police could not help us. It was after they
had gone that the police came and started arresting people up and down.”
On the possible cause of the fight, who controls the various parks in Ebute Meta. “They took advantage of
the situation and robbed everyone within the area. It was horrible, they
also came in the morning and killed another person.”
Confirming the incident, the state police command spokesman Joe Offor,
said it was a case of fight among cultists that turned bloody.
police is on the look out for the leader of one of the gangs identified as Sunday Terror who escaped through the water ways.
