DALLAS, Texas – Stacy Fawcett, 45, was well-liked in her Dallas community, making it even more difficult for friends and family understand why her son would kill her.
According to the Dallas Morning News, McCann Utu, 19, stabbed his mother Stacy and brother Josiah Utu, 17, before calling 911 and stabbing himself.
Josiah and Stacy were already dead when officers arrived, but McCann was still alive. He later died from his injuries.
Family and friends said McCann hadn’t been acting like himself since suffering two concussions last year.
He didn’t go to college and instead stayed home to live with his mom and brother.
“The McCann I knew, he would never do something like that,” a childhood friend said. “He loved Josiah, he loved his mom.”
Fawcett was a contributor for the morning news show on WFAA and also did food coverage for the KVIL website.
