Chief Executive Officer of the stadium facilities construction company Ebi Egbe, who confirmed the development on Thursday, commended Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for releasing funds for the project.
We are back to site and as we speak work is going on. I want to thank the governor for releasing funds to us and the special interest he has shown in seeing that the project is completed. I pray that the bureaucracy that slowed us down won’t rear its ugly head again.
Ikpeazu last week released N100m to fund the project which began on January 1, 2015.
Enyimba, who will represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup next year, have been playing their Premier League home fixtures in Calabar since work began on their stadium in Aba.
Monimichelle assured the fans of the two-time African champions that the arena would be ready for their team to return home if enough funds were made available to enable the firm to complete the project.
Pls be fast mr Governor to release the money.
