4 Dead as Ohakim escapes death: Insecurity In Imo State

In Imo State, yesterday evening 2nd January 2023, the unknown gunmen attacked and killed 4 Police men attacked to the convoy of the former governor. Dr Ikedi Ohakim, a former governor of Imo state was on Monday attacked by gunmen leaving four police dead. Ohakim’s convoy was burnt when they were unable to capture the one the ex governor was in. Dr Ikedi Ohakim was governor of Imo state between 2007 and 2011, the attack happened at Oriagu in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of the state on Monday evening leaving people Oriagu in fear about the unknown. Ohakim who escaped by whiskers had his backup vehicle bombed, leaded to the death of the four policemen in his convoy. During the incident Ohakim was with two of his children and was returning from a visit when the gunmen struck him and his security outfit. Sources disclosed that it took the brevity of the driver of the ex governor for him to escape the gunmen. In the mean time, His Excellency was the main target but his driver was smart enough to beat them because they were driving to block him. After missing him in the front, they blocked his backup vehicle and burnt it. The four policemen with him were burnt.” In the other way a reinforcement came from the State capital Owerri the State to escort the ex governor to his home.
