Buhari speaks on old naira notes crisis, says CBN, AGF not obeying Supreme Court orders
Nigeria president Muhammadu Buhari has broken silence concerning the scarcity of naira ravaging the country this time, following the Supreme Court Judgement permiting the use of old N500 and N1000 notes to circulate till December 2023.
The Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President, Garba Shehu, on Monday when he said the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has no reason not to comply with the Supreme Court Orders merely on the excuse that the president must issue a directive for banks to start acceptig or releasing the old naira notes to the general public.
The president further said the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, insisting that it is the president to blame for the current controversy over the cash scarcity, despite the Supreme Court judgement.
Due to the ongoing debate about the compliance of the legality of the old currency notes, the Presidency has not done enough to to stable the economy.
The President will not in any way stop the Attorney General and the CBN Governor from performing the details of their duties in accordance with the law. In any case. It is debatable at this time, said shehu.
Buhari directives following the meeting of the Council of State is that Banks must make sure the circulation of all the money that is needed and nothing will stop the position.
Garba Shehu always promoting the President as an absolute respecter of judicial process and the authority of the courts. That the president has done nothing wrong in the last eight or so years to act in any way to obstruct the administration of justice, but Nnamdi Kanu is still in DSS custody if Buhari respect court oders after court granted him bail.
The cashless system the CBN put in place, is a wicked act by the rulling party to suffer the masses because this is not the way to fight against corruption, terrorism, to be honesty Mr President.

Therefore Buhari has rejected the claims by many nigerians that he lacks compassion for human, saying that “no government in the history of Nigeria to introduced policies to help economically marginalised and vulnerable groups like the present administration.
It is sickening to hear this from the president despite the hunger and no cash ravaging the country, there is need to act fast before before the death toll rises everyday because of hunger.
